LED Throwies
LED Throwies are another tool for the urban artist to alter their surroundings. They are easy to build and comparatively cheap. A throwie consisting of a LED, a CR2032 3V Lithium battery, a small disc magnet and a piece of duct tape costs around 35 euro cent (when bought in large amounts, f.e. 200 pieces). Although one throwie is cheap, you will need at least fifty (better hundred) throwies to do something impressive. So it’s a good idea to do LED installments with more people and share the costs.
As with every tool you can do a lot of different things with LED throwies. Try to be creative. Involve your friends. Even better, involve people you don’t know like those passing by your installation. The light of the throwies attract people. Try to use that for the actions you’re doing.
